New Student Program in Harrisburg - Conference for Mercy Higher Education

CMHE, in collaboration with the Mercy Justice Team will pilot an advocacy program with our five Pennsylvania Mercy Colleges and Universities in Harrisburg, PA. Students will spend the program learning about Mercy advocacy from our Justice Team, network with
peers, build community among our Mercy colleges/universities, and have an advocacy experience in the state capital. This event will take place March 22-25, 2026 with the following goals:

To connect students more deeply with the Mercy tradition and values, and our Catholic identity while looking at root causes of injustices;
To equip students to advocate for just policies in solidarity with vulnerable people, those made poor, communities, and cultures;
To develop students’ skills for in-person meetings with PA Congressional legislative staff.
